An exclusive resort hotel in the heart of Kabale town
Riverside Resort Hotel, with its beauty, warm and friendly hospitality has a niche for customized service and is truly home away from home. This has made it become one of Kabala’s signature Resort Hotels. This serene resort is set at the heart of Kabale Town, a preferred tourist destination given its proximity to numerous tourist attractions, including the famous mountain gorillas in Bwindi. Our tour office can arrange a safari to these sites for you in advance.
Kabale is located approximately 410 kilometers (255 miles) by road, Southwest of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. It is also about 25 kilometers (16 miles), north of the town of Katuna in Rwanda.
Visiting the Equator
The equator is one of the remarkable tourist attractions due to its outstanding significance. It is located along the Masaka-Mbarara highway in Kayabwe. Here, you’ll find an actual equator landmark where you can stand with each foot in the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. On our way to Kabale, most travelers love to stop at the Equator sign to take photos with their legs/arms on each side of the equator line. There’s also a chain of craft shops where tourists can buy a few souvenirs.
Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savanna game park in Uganda but also the nearest to Kampala city. On a typical game drive, a traveler gets a chance to see animals like zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, elands, hyenas, leopards and many other creatures. The boat ride on Lake Mburo allows you spot aquatic birds, crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and elephants bathing on the shores. Lake Mburo is also excellent for sport fishing and is the best place to spot leopards in Uganda.
You can experience the immense beauty of Lake Bunyonyi. Riverside Resort Hotel is about 65 kilometers away from Lake Bunyonyi – the deepest lake in East Africa and biggest tourist destination in Western Uganda. Bunyonyi is comprised of 29 islands spotted around the lake, making it one of the most scenic parts in Uganda. While at Lake Bunyonyi travelers can engage in boat rides, canoeing, birding watching, game viewing and camping.
